THE NORTH WEST GRADES CHAMPIONSHIPS

6-7th March 2009, Warrington

Another successful weekend for the club. The weekend started off with Polly McDonough, (National Grade 7) finishing in the reserve slot for the North West Team, with a clean all round performance. Saturday afternoon saw a hotly contested battle for the National Grade 6 title, Hannah Barlow made a slight error on beam, her last piece which left her in the overall bronze medal position and finishing with a solid beam routine, Milley Stanway took the overall Grade 6 National title. Hannah's bronze medal was soon added to with a gold medal for the National Grades Conditioning Set, with Milley taking the Conditioning Set, Silver. It shows that conditioning is important and eventually produces success !!! Milley and Hannah will now go on to the National Grades finals representing both the club and the North West Region at the end of April in Birmingham.

On Sunday, Francesca Rossi just missed out on a medal place at Grade 13, finishing 4th, but collecting a team Gold for the winning team of Greater Manchester.  Georgia Moore turned the tables on twin sister Emily(who won the Greater Manchester overall title back in February) to take the Grade 10 Regional Title. Both Moore twins also collected a team Gold for the winning Greater Manchester team along with Zoe Gardler who collected a team gold medal at Grade 11.

A very successful weekend for the club, and a great start to the medals table for 2009.
