2009 ANNUAL SPECTACULAR

What an amazing two days, A full line up of VIPs, including Olympic gymnast Hannah Whelan, Coaches and teachers from the world of gymnastics and the Worshipful, the Lord Mayor of Stockport ( Councillor Pam King). Two performances on Friday and Saturday (27-28th Feb) to a sold out audience of over 120 people on each night. The gymnasts coaches and helpers from the club put on a superb demonstration of gymnastics showing all levels of the sport taking place at the club from beginner to international standard. Performed with an array of music and spotlights everyone looked superb. Notable performances : - The Thursday night general class group - excellent and enthusiastic from very young children, :- The mission impossible steps sequence, commented on by many to be daring, skilful and entertaining, :- Indiana Jones, performed and constructed entirely by the senior squad gymnasts, and off course the Big Finale . ! As coaching director for the club I was amazed, and proud of the performances of all the gymnasts and extremely thankful to the array of coaches who not only made sure everyone was in the correct place at the correct time, but the huge amounts of apparatus that needed to be moved in and out was no mean task.   B McLaughlin
